So you’ve got a great bottle of pinot noir, and since you can’t visit restaurants now (thanks coronavirus), you want to prepare a meal at home for some close friends. You may be wondering what pinot noir food pairing works well. So, before you begin, it’s a wise idea to make a main course that pairs well with your bottle of pinot noir. When you do this, you will not only enhance the flavors of your wine, but your meal will taste better too! If you want to learn more about foods to eat with pinot noir, then read on.

The Best Pinot Noir Food Pairings

The great thing about pinot noir food pairings is that there are so many. The best ones, however, are ones that are warm and comforting – perfect for a fall or winter meal. Fruitier version of some pinot noirs are great with fish or pasta dishes. Bolder pinots are ideal when serving casseroles or stews. For our Halem Heights Pinot Noir, our favorite dishes are:

Cranberry Beef Bourguingon

Broiled Salmon with Broccoli

Chicken Fettucini Alfredo

The recipes above are great for beginner chefs, and people who have been cooking for quite some time. To really make your dinner shine, serve a crusty baguette alongside your meal, and roast some veggies as well. All of these flavors lend well to the flavor profile of pinot noir and will further enhance your meal.

Finally, red wine and chocolate have a longstanding relationship with each other and are a great combination. For this reason, we recommed serving a chocolate dessert if you still have some leftover wine in your bottle (if not, it’s time to open a new bottle!). Our all time favorite chocolate dessert recipe, which is super simple while also being impressive looking (and sounding) is Cook’s Illustrated Chocolate Pots de Creme.

Your next intimate dinner party gathering will be a hit if you serve some Halem Heights Pinot Noir with the delicious food pairings we recommend. Enjoy!
